Boldly going where no man has gone before, UK resident Tony Alleyne, who went to great lengths to transform his one-bedroom apartment into the bridge from Star Trek Voyager, is now being asked by his ex-wife who owns the apartment to beam himself out of there.

In what may go down as one of the saddest and nerdiest events in recent history, UK’s The Sun recently reported that a British man, one Tony Alleyne, is being asked to dismantle his geeked-out apartment in which he boldly went where no man has gone before in order to transform it into the bridge of the Starship Voyager. Alleyne told The Sun he  began working on his Trekked out apartment back in 1999 after he and his ex-wife split up.

It remains unclear as to why it has taken Tony’s ex-wife Georgina, who apparently owns the apartment, over a decade to decide to sell the property while Tony remained living in it. But one thing is clear, the ‘Wrath of Georgina’ has emerged  and it’s evident she is looking to sell the apartment despite the obvious time and money spent by her former husband fixing up his fan-service to the nerd gods.

According to the Sun, Alleyne estimates that were he to recreate the effort he has undertaken in a new apartment, it could cost upwards of $150,000.

When questioned on how he felt about Georgina asking him to tear down all the Trekked out furnishings, Alleyne told the The Sun, “To say I’m gutted is an understatement. It is my life’s work – and it looks like it’s going into a skip.”

Of course there is also the lingering question of why Alleyne can’t just buy the apartment outright from his former spouse, but that may be a mystery of the universe destined to go unsolved.

Still, we’re holding out hope that Alleyne will be able to set his phaser to “compromise” and come to some sort of arrangement with his ex, otherwise he may want to gather some funds at light speed in order prevent his stunning Star Trek apartment from warping into that black hole we earthlings refer to as, the dumpster.

  2. quackula at 4:08pm 25th January 2012 Very cool but not good decision to rent from your ex.

  7. Aaron Timm at 3:08am 25th January 2012 Actually, it is pretty impressive. If I were him, I'd be selling the stuff on eBay to unload it and make back up some of the money he'll lose.
    1. TheQueenofOK at 1:21pm 13th March 2012 I agree! People would pay a pretty penny for a lot of that stuff.
  8. Damon Schmitt at 2:13am 25th January 2012 Voyager? Yep, I found your problem. :P Otherwise, wow!

  9. Jeffrey Van Camp at 6:05pm 24th January 2012 Amir, you are such a geek. I don't need a tricorder to tell you how hilarious this article is. Also, I know that guy is a Star Trek fan, but it looks more like a level from Portal.
    1. Amir Iliaifar at 4:44pm 25th January 2012 It certainly does Mr. Van Camp, but more importantly, if I could give Mr. Alleyne a piece of advice, it would be not to 'Kling-on' to the idea of keeping his apartment given that his wife is so determined to sell, and just 'boldly go'.
  10. Marc Morrell at 2:04am 25th January 2012 Only a Trekkie would be foolish enough to go to all that trouble on something that wasn't his to do it on in the first place. Beam me up, Scotty, there's no intelligent life here.
    1. Rusty Shackleford at 10:32am 25th January 2012 I second this. Most people wouldn't be stupid enough to overhaul an apartment like this owned by an impartial landlord, much less an exwife.
  11. JerDon Brockman at 1:47am 25th January 2012 I hope he Lives Long, and Prospers. :(
  12. Ben Bennyboy Lzicar at 1:35am 25th January 2012 Wow... what a B1t08... You think she could sell the place for a hefty price to some treky; why on earth ask him to tear it down? It adds tons of value to the house.
