Google Gets Groovy with Music Search

Search engine company adds a feature which allows users to search for and find detailed information about their favorite music artists from the main search box.

Google yesterday announced they’d added a music search function to their search engine functionality to “quickly put users in touch with a wide range of music information”. It is accessed directly through the main search box.

Google said that the music search function works by allowing a user to input a name of an artist popular in the U.S. (with a few international artists thrown in as well) into the front page search box. When results are returned, information such as name, albums and a picture appear along with a link for “more music” results.

When the more music results link is selected, users will see information including user reviews, song titles and links to online retailers as well as links to artist news, photos, cover art, discussion forums and other websites.
