Apple still hasn't been able to work out a deal to bring the Beatles' music to iTunes, but it's just launched the catalog of John Lennon's solo material.

Apple’s iTunes store still hasn’t been able to work out a deal with EMI and/or Apple Corps. to bring get the Beatles’ music online and for sale, but the company announced today that it is now offering a catalog of slain Beatle John Lennon’s solo material. The material features the new digital collections Lennon Legend and Acoustic, along with Lennon’s well-known solo albums featuring well-known songs like "Happy Xmas (War is Over)," "Woman", "Instant Karma," "Working Class Hero," and (of course) "Imagine."

"John Lennon is one of the greatest artists of our time," said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO, in a release. "We’re thrilled to have his solo catalog available on the iTunes Store for the first time."

The tracks are available both at iTunes’ standard $0.99 per track price, or (as part of the EMI catalog) available at higher 256 Kbps encoding and without DRM protection for $1.29 per track. For the next 30 days, Apple is also offering exclusive video content with purchase of the albums John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band,Sometime in New York City,Walls and Bridges,Milk and Honey, and the collections Anthology and Working Class Hero.
