
Nike and Apple are working with gyms to make iPods compatible with gym equipment.
AP has reported that Nike and Apple will be rolling out a new program that will let users plugiPod nanos into gym equipment allowing them to track their workouts and set their goals before uploading the data to a Nike website. As will as manufacturers of equipment, they’ll beworking with the 24-Hour Fitness and Virgin Athletic Health Clubs chains, with the technology expected to bein over 500 clubs this summer. Nike and Apple have already worked together on Nike+ technology, a wireless system that allows Nike running shoes thatare equipped with the appropriate sensors to communicate with the runner’s iPod nano.
