A new survey from In-Stat finds North American households rate broadband as their most important wireline service.
A new survey from research firm In-Stat finds that all segments of U.S. and Canadian households rated broadband services “the communication service they can least live without.”
The new report, “A Study of Broadband Households and IMS Consumer Markets” also finds that broadband households are widely diverse in their lifestyle choices, interests, activities, and purchasing behavior; yes, 72 percent of “leading edge” broadband households already have a cable service bundle, and 85 percent of all broadband household segments favor the “quadruple play” of services offerings—Internet, television, telephone, and mobile phone, all from the same service provider.
“Clearly, existing behavior plays a significant role in future household buying decisions,” says In-Stat analyst Keith Nissen. “But the fact that consumers have embraced broadband in a very short period of time illustrates that consumer attitudes, regardless of age, income, or geography, can change.”
