Ooma Tacks Features Onto Premier Service

Ooma has sweetened the pot on its paid VoIP service with a attractive bundle of new features for the same price.
Ooma’s magic box that turns broadband Internet connections into a phone line – the Ooma Hub device – just got a lot more powerful. On Wednesday, the company debuted a feature update to the box that delivers a slew of advanced new features above and beyond what’s possible with conventional phone service.
With the addition of virtual numbers, the box allows users to create different phone numbers for different purposes. For instance: one as a main line, one for the kids, and one for the home office. The system can also now be used to send voicemails directly to e-mail with the touch of button, forward calls to mobile phones, log calls, and even blacklist callers.
All the new services join the existing capabilities of Ooma’s Premier service, which runs for $13 a month or $100 a year. The Hub remains priced at $250 when bundled with Ooma’s Scout device, which extends Ooma service to one other phone in the home.
