&lt;br /&gt;One question (if there are any Nest owners reading this): Do I need to install the back plate when I put the Nest on the wall? I like the look of it as in the pictures above (from the company), but whenever I see user pictures of installs in their own home, they have that plate on the back of it which looks ugly IMO.&lt;/p&gt;
