TiVo Puts New Online Services on TV
Subscribers with a TiVo Series 2 on their broadband connection can access movie listings (and buy tickets), podcasts, Internet radio, check weather and traffic, and more.
In a bid to prove its set-top digital video recorders are still a step ahead from similar offerings from other companies, DVR pioneer TiVo today announced it is rolling out new online services designed to bring selected Internet-based services to users televisions. Subscribers with TiVo Series 2 DVRs connected to home networks with broadband Internet access will be able to view local traffic and weather conditions from Yahoo, browse movie listing (and buy tickets) via Fandango, view images shared via Yahoo Photos, listen Internet radio from Live365, and access podcasts
