What Does Basic Cable Spend on You?

Research firm Kagan's annual report on U.S. basic cable networks reveals that spending per subscriber has remained relatively flat sine 2000.

Research firm Kagan has released the 2006 edition of its Economics of Basic Cable Networks, which finds that, among basic cable networks, annual programming costs per subscriber have been essentially flat since the year 2000 (declining by 0.16 percent), arriving at an average of $2.29 per subscriber per year. All this while the amounts U.S. consumers pay for cable television have been rising steadily.
