    I have had an Olive O3HD (little sister to o6hd) for 18 months, with mixed results.

    I purchased the ripping service from Olive, and some of the CDs did not rip properly, with audible errors, which seems strange, since the source CDs play just fine in the O3HD.

    The unit has had a persistent issue with locking up, and not wanting to boot up properly. Evidently this is a common problem, since the Olive website “FREQUENTLY Asked Questions” section includes a detailed response. For months, I have had to reboot each time I ask the unit to “wakeup.” Now the unit refuses to boot at all.

    Olive customer support has been less than supportive. Rather than allowing me to return the unit for warranty repair, they have asked me to wipe the hard drive completely clean, and reload the operating system. I am less than happy!!

    I will not purchase Olive products again, and will not recommend Olive to anyone.

    I regret having bought this music server;

    Pros: It is well built, when it runs it manages to produce good music

    Cons: It takes forever to turn on, the commands are slow and sticky at best, the iPad interface is slow to react and pretty much useless, the touchscreen is useless as well. It has taken me more than a minute to change a song, and about as much to make it search within a song. The controls are simply bad. As most things all in one, there are drawbacks and things it will not do well. This works as a good DAC, decent cd player (except for the controls) but it is truthfully a bad music server overall.

    Do not buy it, the human interface needs to be remade from scratch. They should have look at the Aurender interface, fast, reliable, practical etc.
