AT&T Looking To Extend iPhone Deal?

A report says AT&T is in talks with Apple to continue being the exclusive carrier through 2011.

A report in the Wall Street Journal says that AT&T is currently in talks with Apple, seeking to extend its deal as exclusive US carrier for the iPhone through 2011.

AT&T was the first carrier to sign a deal with Apple for the phone in 2007, and has sold millions of the handsets, although consumers have often been unhappy with only being able to get the iPhone from one carrier – as have other carriers.

Indeed, in Germany T-Mobile was forced to go to court to retain it’s exclusive rights, while in France Orange had to unlock handsets.
