Cardo Wireless Scala-500 Headset Review

CoolTechZone reviews the new Cardo Wireless Scala-500 Bluetooth headset for your mobile phone.

Quote from the review:

“The only aspect that is left to touchup on is the price. The Scala-500 is a flagship product from Cardo Systems and the manufacturer will surely make you realize that. This particular headset retails around $79.99, which makes it one of the most expensive in its category. Is the price justifiable? Most certainly! There are few products that truly deserve nothing but positive comments and recommendations regardless their price, and the Scala-500 happens to be one of those few. Clearly, the Scala-500 headset is not designed for everyone. It’s for those executives and users who must travel for one reason or another and need a comfortable headset with rechargeable capabilities.”

  2. Gil Laserna at 12:46pm 12th March 2006 I've had several bluetooth wireless pieces and the Scala 500 is by far the best sounding unit I have. It has clear sounds and fairly durable. Comfor is good and could be better if it were smaller. I can talk and use it all day with plenty of reserve power for all night as well. Although I like the incoming musical ring it tends to go on forever and it is audible to the caller. The issue I have is the charging device holder. The pins are easy to break if you don't line it up exactly. I hope they've replaced this system on the new one I just bought.

This is one of the worst products I've ever owned. The only joy it gave me was that it only took two swipes of a hammer to thoroughly destroy it...now THAT was satisfaction.

It's a headset...let me repeat...It's a headset. Does it REALLY need a six-page User's Manual to figure out how to get it to work? If so, it's way too complicated, and they need to go back to the drawing board. The product needs two separate switches...On/Off and a volume control, and that's it. No "hold for three seconds, turn around three times, and say 'there's no place like home'," no "blue flashing every three seconds" means A, "red/blue every five seconds" means B, and no "red/blue every 10 seconds following by flashing blue every 13 seconds means the RedSox won the World Series." Sound quality, volume, and comfort are wonderful attributes if you can get the product to work without having to study the User's Guide. Otherwise it simply fails.
