
The ROKR barely charted, but Cingular continues to sing iTunes praises with the sleek Motorola SLVR L7 mobile phone. But wait: isn't its iTunes as limited as the ROKR?
Cingular Wireless rolled out the first iTunes-enabled mobile phone, the Motorola ROKR, back in September 2005 to much fanfare but disappointing sales. Research firm In-Stat recently estimated Cingular sold 84,000 ROKR phones in 2005, which doesn’t quite qualify for federal disaster relief in the wireless industry, but certainly can’t be described as a runaway success
