Let’s face it, if YouTube has taught us anything it’s that people like to record themselves, whether it’s lip-syncing to Celine Dion or discussing the emotions triggered when that girl chose the Vampire over the Werewolf. Enter the Swivl automated video tracker. Serving as a personal cameraman of sorts, the Swivl gives you a hands-free way to record yourself. A paired marker rests in your hands while the Swivl sits atop a base, tracking your movements via the marker. You can place or point where you want the camera to go while the Swivl tracks your movements vertically and horizontally, tilting forwards and backwards and twisting side-to-side, making sure you are in frame at all times.

The Swivl is designed to work with your iPhone, iPod Touch, Android phone and more; a working prototype of the Swivl will make its debut this January at the upcoming 2012 Consumer Electronics Show.
