Dual Electronics Debuts New Car Receiver
The new XDMR7710, when working with an optional digital media link receiver, can play music files off of select Microsoft PlaysForSure portable audio devices and USB thumb drives.
Dual Electronics earlier this week announced the upcoming availability of their first mobile audio receiver to be compatible with select Microsoft PlaysForSure portable audio devices and USB thumb drives via a digital media link adapter. The new XDMR7710 receiver ($249.99) and EAUSB20 digital media link adapter ($99.99) will both be available in July.
The XDMR7710, said Dual Electronics, is an AM/FM/CD/MP3/WMA/XM Ready receiver which has a black piano finish and a motorized two-step detachable face that conceals the unit’s LCD display. When working through the optional EAUSB20, the receiver can playback legally downloaded music purchased from the growing variety of online music services stored on select PlaysForSure portable audio devices. Other features include the ability to display detailed file information from select portable media players and USB thumb drives and the ability to record WMA files directly to USB thumb drives from any head unit source at variable bit rates between 32kbps and 128kbps.
“Digital audio has been plagued with concerns about compatibility issues for way too long,†said Robb Groner, Director of Product Development, Namsung America, Inc., parent company of Dual Electronics, in a statement. “Consumers want to know the music they acquire is compatible with their digital players.
