According to a China Times quote reported by the Focus Tiawan News Channel, Foxconn chief executive Terry Gou spoke at the company’s annual shareholder meeting this week and told the audience that Apple’s iPhone 5 will “put Samsung’s Galaxy III to shame.” Gou apparently has a low opinion of the rival smartphone manufacturer and told shareholders that his new lifetime goal was to defeat Samsung. Gou even went so far to state that Samsung had a “track record of snitching on its competitors.” Gou was referring to an incident during 2010 in which Samsung provided details about four other Taiwanese companies in regards to a European Commission price-fixing inquiry about the development of flat-panels.
Beyond the iPhone 5, Gou also mentioned that the company signed an agreement with American glass manufacturer Corning for a supply of large glass panels. In addition, Gou spoke highly of television manufacturer Sharp and believes that the partnership between the two companies will provide a three-year competitive edge over Samsung. Gou is often intentionally vague about the products that Foxconn develops for Apple due to the high level of secrecy around the release of Apple products.
In a related report this week, Foxconn is rumored to start receiving Sharp LCD HDTV panels as early as July 1, 2012. Foxconn had originally planned to start receiving the panels during the fourth quarter of this year, but the schedule has been pushed up. The panels are expected to be implemented into the long-rumored Apple television set and the timing of the construction points to the possibility that Apple will launch the HDTV during the fourth quarter of 2012 just in time for the holiday shopping season. Sharp already supplies Apple with Retina displays for the new iPad and analysts have stated that Sharp’s Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide panels would be an ideal match for Apple branding.
i am a consumer. i make a wise choice by choosing the best device with affordable price. And obviously, Iphone 5 is way too expensive in my country which is costing 920 USD. and i don’t think to spend 920 USD on a phone is a brilliant choice. So, i rather go to S3 which is only costing 657USD in my country. and Foxcon, shame on u by putting the workers in china with bad condition.
Not a big issue being better than samsung. HTC, Motorola, SONY, Toshiba, Kyocera or SHARP phones are better than those mediocre and unrealiable phones with greeny and annoying displays. Samsung is no more than massive marketing and people who buy them are just eating this marketing showing ignorance. Any informed person knows how badly these samsung phones are mounted, even in terms of circuits, they are significantly slower in performance than competitors with lower specs.
Bye samsung, you are over.
I have never seen any single development by samsung and what they make under license other`s license also use to be simply worse, oled displays (amoled) were developed by SONY and SONY`s are better (not that annoyingly green either) and well, even the TAGs used with NFC (both things from SONY as well) are SONY innovation but with its poor marketing, made them unknown by this. We are stupids.
You’re obviously someonewhodoesn’tknow.
At least when you lie, you need to embed some truth in it to make it more believable. When everything is a lie, well, it’s just obvious. Is it jealousy fueling you to make these outlandish statements?
You do realize that IBM and Samsung have been the 2 most innovative companies in the entire world, right?
HTC? They don’t even make anything. They just put together what other people innovate and slap their name on it.
Motorola? Lot’s of telecommunication patents, but their consumer products are mediocre.
Sony? A has been whose technology is now almost a decade behind Samsung.
Toshiba, Kyocera? LOL. This doesn’t even need a response. Thanks for the laugh.
Sharp? Another has been whose technology lags behind Samsung.
Obviously a Troll with as much sense as a rock! The Samsung Galaxy SIII is an evolutionary product rather than revolutionary but it’s ten times better than anything Apple or anyone else has out at the moment. The iPhone 5, when it appears is playing catch up to Samsung and given it’s boxed in operating system where you are basically dictated to by Apple as to what you can and can’t do with the thing YOU have paid for, I think it safe to say the Apple Fan boys will still suck it up but the rest of us who prefer something more grown up will stick with the vastly superior Samsung :)
And if anyone on this earth knows shame, it’s this guy. It took a lot of dead workers for him too convert!
Convert? Worker are still treated unjustly I bet…
But only in secret, now. So…no worries, right?

Besides licensing other`s developments I have never seen samsung developing anything indeed and then badly manufactured. OLED (Amoled) displays, developed by SONY as far better.

Every objective benchmark shows that Samsung devices are the fastest performing ones.
Every objective reviewer has repeatedly concluded over the last decade that Samsung’s displays are the best.
For you to even think about writing what you just said in the face of indisputable contrary facts show how full of hatred and jealousy you are.
IBM and samsung are the most innovative companies in what? Are you serious? My god, i guess you are korean, and paid by samsung (common, by the way).
Lets think, name a samsung development besides bad and mediocre copies (licensed or not). Please, donnot compare mediocre companies like samsung to IBM my friend.
Oh, sorry, I forgot something. Sorry, my brain ignores nonsense :P
Are you telling me that SHARP, KYOCERA, SONY are behind samsung? In sales, right? Because people like you believe on TV and massive marketing (at least 7 times the budget of almost any competitor`s). SHARP using 10th generation of factories and samsung, recently two version behind. And dont make me explain the difference, you are too brainwashed to believe what you see (except TV commerials from mediocre samsung).
Funny guys, being paid, hahaha. Samsung will be over within this decade. If you want to see POTENTIAL, look at VIZIO, if you want to see a pathetic company unable to develop ANYTHING before the rest or badly copying… see samsung, hehe. Funny guys.
And dont show your ignorance like this, uneducated guy.
Recommended to study: Check amoled displays (no, they are not samsung`s, samsung makes them bad, but cheap), check IPS, ASV, whatever you want. Next time I will call you `retarded`.
Just out of curiosity, are you always an ass or are you just having a bad day?
