Check out our full review of the Google Nexus 7
Google put up the official page for the Nexus 7 tablet and has already taken it down, but before it did, we gathered some info for the tablet which is expected to be unveiled shortly. From the looks of it, all of the rumors were correct. The Google Nexus 7 tablet follows most of the rules of a 7-inch tablet and it is clear that the Kindle Fire is on its attack list, with a price of $200 and specs that greatly outmatch Amazon’s tablet. Google has changed the default orientation of its tablet OS to a portrait orientation for the Nexus 7, with a focus on Google Play apps and services. Those who buy the tablet will get a $25 Google Play credit as well. Again, another response to the Kindle Fire.
The Nexus 7 tablet also comes with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). This new version of Android will come with a number of new features like Google Now (a Siri competitor), customizable homescreens, upgraded notifications, better speech-to-text dictation, and many other incremental updates.

Update: Google has shown off the tablet during its conference and we’ve learned a few new things. Chrome will be the standard browser for the Nexus 7 and it will come with a modified (again, portrait) interface that has larger icons and several new Google Play (see above) that make the Android interface look a little more like the Nook Tablet and Kindle Fire. It will also be able to connect with Nexus Q, a new music service that Andrew details here.

Yep!
Yep!
is there ability to coonnect the web through usb modem with adapter?
Do u want a privacy tracking device with you?
IF only it had a ‘MEDIA’ slot, full size USB (aka be able to add a 3/4G modem) and HDMI.. if it does I have not seen it listed at any of the news sites..
I think this is step in the right direction. I think the reason the iPad and the Fire are popular is because they are focused on users consuming content. The Fire is so tied in to people using Amazon content that it doesn’t even access the Play store.
I think having the Nexus 7 focus on content with the Play store instead of “this is the most powerful tablet, look at all the crazy weird stuff it can do” is just want Google needed to do.
I have a Xoom and an iPad, and I absolutely want a Nexus 7.
I think it might be a bit small, as most of these 7-inchers are, but I do like the new interface and the specs are very impressive for a $200 tablet.
Eww
Il stick with my Samsung tablet. iPad sucks
Nope.
Hell Yea, I’ll give the “Apparent Resolutionary iPad” a pass for THIS!! :D
