Steve Jobs described all the time its visit to Xerox and how they did not know what to do with the products of their research. Icons and Mouse where invented by Xerox. The did give it to this two young fellows and later on Xerox was not happy this group of researcher did give away this little byproduct for free. Creative minds did transform a minor byproduct into a new concept and a billion dollar business with it's up's and down's. Jobs never claimed the mouse as a Apple invention. This is why Microsoft could just use it in Windows, without Apple did suing them. This is the different.

You have so little knowledge about Apple and did not realize at all, how a totally new concept, like iPhone and iPad where copied by a whole group of huge companies - making billions with a copy of a Apple product. No car producer did come up with something totally new like iPhone and iPad and the idea of an App store. So they did steal the whole idea and did copy not only the idea of apps, but also the design, size and functions and the hardware. By following the development from the beginning, everybody could see how a new idea where spread, without giving Apple any kind of credit. I think every car manufacturer will have done the same with a whole new kind of concept.
So I would really wonder if Apple was just smiling and see the billions streaming in other directions and pockets. If Apple has taking the ideas from Google or Samsung, I will turn against Apple. In this case Apple is lightyears i front of Microsoft now and Android is stealing some technology from Apple without asking. The power balance has totally changed. Apple has the better overall concept for kids as well as for professionals, but we are still taking part and think still in terms of David and Goliath. But today billionaires are stealing from billionaires. There are companies like Apple, still giving us good service, quality and design, and there are greedy companies you have to pay for every ridiculous bit of software to every single computer you own, separately - have to pay for all upgrades - and no service. It's up to you to decide in this odd period of time...

This whole thing is just stupid....apple has stolen tons of stuff...here's an example. Back in the day, they were all stealing from each other....we all benefitted from it too. It was viewed as discovery...each company benefitted from it. Heck the car companies still copy each other out the waaazzoo. Heck just about every car now looks like a BMW 3 series...don't see BMW suing every car maker in the world.

http://www.cultofmac.com/95614/how-steve-jobs-invented-the-computer-mouse-by-stealing-it-from-xerox/

Apple needs to quit acting like the spoiled little rich kid and just enjoy what they have. I was on the fence between Apple and Android for my future...I even really really like the macbook air. But if this is the way Apple is going to do business I won't buy another stinking product from them.

Hey...last time I checked the market was to produce products that people want to purchase...not fight patent wars. Dang dude!

as you said, apple and google sort of need each each other which is probably why they don't do battle. apple has vowed to be rid of google services with ios 6. i'm wondering if apple is just waiting till they get weened from google maps, search, youtube, etc before they assault Google in the courts.

i dislike apple bullying foreign hardware companies with their home "court" advantage in the US. outside the US, samsung did well with foreign tribunals. i'm thinking apple will have a tougher row to hoe if they tackle Google. a US company v US company slugfest in a california venue would be fun to watch. i'm sure Google will get fed up sooner or later and draw a line in the sand.....stop suing our hardware folk or......bring it on. coconutz247

Yeah, looks like an attempt to strike back, Motorola and Apple have been fighting for a while so Google inherited that when they bought Motorola Mobility. Not sure how it will all end, but this patent war isn't good for anyone.
