LG Takes Wrap off Slimmed-Down enV2 Slider

The next enV gets a thinner body for portability, and beefier keys for easier texting.
LG updated its popular enV slider for Verizon on Monday with the introduction of the enV2. The newest iteration of the device features extra-large front keys for easier dialing and a slimmed-down form factor.
Both changes were made to accommodate for the ever-growing crowd of chronic text messagers, according to Ehtisham Rabbani, LG’s vice president of product strategy and marketing for mobile phones. “We know the texting audience wants a mobile device that is compact enough to slide easily into pant pockets and handbags without compromising the integrity of the phone’s features,” he said in a statement. “The slimmed-down enV2 offers everything consumers loved about the enV with the added benefit of a larger, more spacious internal screen with large easy-to-text keys.”
Features that will go untouched from the first phone include Bluetooth capabilities, dual speakers, a 2.0 megapixel camera, QWERTY keyboard, and compatibility with V CAST Music , Video, and VZ Navigator.
Like the first enV, the enV2 will be a Verizon exclusive when it goes on sale in April. It will sell for $179.99, or $129.99 with a $50 rebate for a two-year agreement.
