Lowrance Debuts iWay 350c GPS Unit

Newest member of GPS company's automotive GPS line features a 3.5" color TFT touch screen display, a 4GB hard drive for holding maps and voice navigation, among other features.

Lowrance Electronics, a maker of GPS products, yesterday announced a new addition to their iWay line of multimedia automotive GPS devices. The iWay 350c, which just won “Best New Mobile Electronics Entertainment Product for 2006” at the SEMA 2005 Show in Las Vegas, is set to be available for $499.

The iWay 350c, Lowrance Electronics said, boasts a sunlit-viewable 3.5” color TFT touch-screen display and 16-channel GPS+WAAS location navigation via a built-in antenna. It has a 4GB hard drive which holds NAVTEQ turn-by-turn data for the continental U.S. and Canada, including over 5 million points of interest. Navigation directions are given to the driver by voice.

Other features of the iWay 350c include built-in battery power for up to 15 hours of life, a built-in stereo MP3 player, a SD/MMC media card slot, JPEG picture viewer and a built-in FM transmission modulator to listen to driving directions or music over a car’s radio.

Accessories included with the iWay 350c are a suction-cup mounting bracket, 12 vDC power adapter, USB to PC interface cable, soft protective cover and micro-fiber touch-screen cleaning cloth.
