AirBus SAS, the world's largest passenger-aircraft maker, says travelers will be able to make cellphone calls during flight by 2006.
“The Toulouse, France-based aircraft builder completed its first in-flight trial of phones that use the global system for mobile communications, or GSM, the dominant wireless technology in Europe and Asia, Airbus said in an e-mailed statement. Airbus said tests were performed with several different GSM phones used simultaneously for both voice calls and text messages, paving the way for future widespread use aboard airliners
