Any one who is serious about using photoshop on a tablet wont even consider the RT and go straight for the pro which as Balmer mentioned it also includes a Wacom Digitizer, so even with the normal photoshop people could achieve great results.

Sorry got comments mixed up. I am guessing you are talking about running Winrows 7 on touch with an Asus or Samsung currently on the market? Or did you download the Window CR 8 preview or the newer preview. What are you using for touch a tablet or an all in one? Sorry fell asleep. Let us know.

RT WITH 1 OR 2 GB RAM AND CLOCKED AT 1.6 PROBABLY WON’T RUN PHOTOSHOP. However the Pro vs. With Ivy Bridge and 4GB ram should be fine.

PHOTOSHOP, I am guessing will require more ram then 1 to 2 GB ram and a clock speed above 1.6. Think you might need Pro version with Ivy Bridge and 4 GB ram. I have not used PS since vs.7. I finfd Ulead PhotoImpact fills my needs.Hope this helps.

Will Photoshop Extended get updated with a Metro interface? if not, most people probably won’t bother using it on Surface. The standard Windows UI doesn’t work very well with touch.

I understand that the Metro browser won't support plugins like Flash, but will in the desktop mode.

I hope the Pro will support at least 8GB RAM. 4GB is barely sufficient today.

I don’t know if Techie is the right term, but Fully Functional as it appears. I see the Windows Phone all over today, seeming that it and the Surface and the Desktop/Workstation are all going to melt together. I think, that Apple built the Ipad as an extension to the Ipod and the Iphone and they went took off. I think that is why Windows announced the Surface so early before production, it was not for John Q. Citizen, but to let Corporate Firms know that Windows was bringing a full interface to the Business Community. Thereby hoping to keep them from incorporating business communications though the Ipad. Meaning again, that their Cell Phone, their Tablet and Desktop/Workstation were for making money. The Ipad gave all of us the idea that a tablet was for having fun. But don’t give up, because Microsoft owns Xbox, and that too will be part of the interface for the fun and not directed at Commerce. Microsoft is serious about building an app base and will offer something for both worlds.

You are really asking, it is a full PC. Ipads are for the most pad visual entertainment. Yes they are growing, but the Windows PC has been full fledged since 1990.

I can’t imagine that Windows does not support Adobe Flash? I can’t imagine that they would not support Blue Tooth, can you? As far as Ram the RT will have 1 to 2GBs as a given and the Pro will be at least 4GB to support Windows and hold hands with Ivy Bridge, that is pretty much a given. So the chart seems a bit hurried and not extremely well thought out, but the over story was well done.

I’m reserving judgment until the full specs are released and we know a little more. I doubt I’ll want to give up my iPad for this thing, but I am jealous of that keyboard / kickstand combo.

The Pro should be able to run photoshop… the full program not the rinky dink app.

But, how much, or even if, it is better than the iPad, remains to be seen.
