MobiTV Goes Live on the Treo 650

Provider of live television service to mobile phones announces that Treo 650 users will be able to view over 25 channels of streaming television.

MobiTV, a provider of live television service to mobile phones, today announced they are expanding their presence onto the Palm Treo 650 smartphone. The company said this marks their first entry into the smartphone area after first appearing on a wide variety of other phones.   The MobiTV for the Treo 650 will be available for a monthly charge of $9.99. It includes over 25 streaming channels of news, sports, weather and entertainment. Itwill appear across major U.S. wireless carriers who offer the Treo 650, as well as to users using unlocked GSM Treo for 650 smartphones on other carriers.   "We’ve literally had thousandsof Treo users contact our support lines to request MobiTV. That enthusiasm from the Treo community made the Treo 650 the right entry point for us into the smartphone market," said Dr. PhillipAlvelda, chief executive officer of MobiTV. "We are quite pleased to deliver a fantastic live mobile television viewing experience on the Treo smartphone."

  1. Bill at 7:37am 29th September 2005 WOW, For a version 1 release, the program works great. I use T-Mobile which has a slooow internet connection and the service work very well. Image quality is much better then I expected. Sound qualify is also very good. Channel line-up is good and I believe will get better as more users sign up.

    $9.95 a month is a good price point. I will assume that other Channels may or will be avaialble for specific carriers and/or subscription rates.
