I agree, has everything been thought through on this? Who are they targeting? I can understand if my phone is broken and I need a quick replacement..then it's convenient only if the new phone has battery power, or is identical to the one I own and I can swap batteries. Does it sell accessories? Extra batteries, bluetooth headsets? Chargers? I think the best use for this idea would have to be pre-paid cellular. That way your not bound to a contract based on a conversation you had with a 1 ton vending machine. I also wonder if it accepts debit cards or only major credit cards, what if your credit card is stolen, and people are buying up phones on your credit?

I think this would work for pre-paid phones, but trying to sell phones with a phone plan is a dumb idea. Also the Motorola Q and RAZR are expensive phones, will be people feel comfortable paying that much for a vending machine product?

Lastly, it seems like people would likely purchase a phone from a vending machine if they maybe forgot their regular cell phone at home, so is it smart to put expensive phones in the vending machine if it will be a backup to their main cell? And what about battery life, will these phones come fully charged?
