Nokia Inks Mobile Video Deals

Nokia's Video Center has secured deals with CNN, IBN, Jamba, Sony Pictures and others to put their content on PCs and Nokia's N-series handsets.

The world’s largest handset maker, Nokia, announced today that it has signed content partnerships for its Nokia Video Center, a video service aimed at both PCs and Nokia’s high-end N-series mobile handsets. New partners include CNN and Sony Pictures, along with India’s IBN news channel and video from Jamba, Rooftop Comedy, ROK, and Versaly Entertainment. These new partners join YouTube and Reuters as content providers for Nokia’s Video Center Service.

“The new partnerships expand the scope of quality mobile videos available to Nseries device owners. The new content ranges from movies, trailers, and comedy to more informative videos such as international news.” said Harri Maennistoe, director of multimedia for Nokia, in a statement. “Consumer desire to watch internet videos on mobile devices is growing all the time and we want to help users discover and access the best content in the simplest way possible.”

The Nokia Video Center is currently available on Nokia’s N95 and N95 8 GB handsets.

CNN and IBN are currently available in the Asia Pacific region; along with Jamba and Sony Pictures, they’ll appear on the main menu of Nokia’s Video Center, while ROK, Versaly Entertainment, and Rooftop Comedy will be accessible from the Internet Videos category on the menu.
