O2 Announces UK Pricing For 3G iPhone

It's barely been announced, but UK iPhone franchise holder O2 has already announced the pricing and tariffs for the 3G iPhone, with the emphasis ion business customers.

A few days ago Steve Jobs finally confirmed the release of the 3G iPhone, which was barely a secret. But already O2, the UK exclusive franchise holder for the desirable handset has announced a release date – July 11 – as well as the pricing and tariffs for the handset.

With a tilt toward business customers, the 8GB set will be available free for customers choosing the $90 and $150 a month tariffs. Those going for the $60 and $70 tariffs (the $70 is the existing level) will have to pay virtually $200 for the handset.

If you want the 16GB handset, you’ll have to pay over $300 on the two lower tariffs, while those going for the $90 tariff will pay $120 for the iPhone. Only those on the $150 tariff will receive the phone free of charge.

In all cases, customers will have unlimited data browsing via O2’s HSDPA network, as well as unlimited access through BT Openzone and The Cloud Wi-Fi hotspots around the UK.

For the first time, the iPhone – in both sizes – will be available to Pay & Go customers, but no pricing was given.
