Plantronics Does Mono-to-Stereo Bluetooth

Plantronics' new Voyager 855 Bluetooth converts between mono and stereo configurations, letting users immerse themselves in audio, or keep one ear free.
Plantronics has announced its new Voyaager 855 Bluetooth headset, the company’s first mono-to-stereo convertible Bluetooth headset to feature AudioIQ noise reduction technology. The 855 features a detachable stereo cable with a second earbud-style earpiece, so users can opt for a more-or-less traditional one-ear approach for Bluetooth enabled phone calls, or a two-ear approach for music via A2Dp and AVRCP profiles and immersive, two-eared conversations.
The Voyager 855 offers a sleek profile, a sliding boom with a microphone to initiate and end calls, a 7-hour talk time, 200 hours of standby time, and Plantronics’ own AudioIQ technology aims to keep audio levels on both sides of a call optimized so users’ voices come through clear and clean. The unit weighs only 15 grams, and offers dedicated call and music controls.
Expect to see the Voyager 855 in October for a suggested price of $149.99; Plantronics is also planning to offer a mono-only version dubbed the Voyager 815 for $129.99.
