Plantronics Showcases Bluetooth Headsets

The Voyager 510 and Discovery 645 each offer up new technologies for better audio quality during conversations.
Plantronics today announced two new Bluetooth headsets which incorporate new technologies for better audio clarity during conversations. The Plantronics Discovery 645 will be available later this month for $149, while the Plantronics Voyager 510 is available now for $79.
The Plantronics Voyager 510, said Plantronics, comes in a black and silver color scheme and is reportedly the first Bluetooth headset to market to include both a noise-canceling microphone and wind-reduction technology. Other features include multipoint technology for easily switching between two Bluetooth devices, a lightweight, foldable design, one-touch call answer/end and up to six hours of talk time.
The Plantronics Discovery 645, which has the same look and feel as the Discovery 640, builds upon its predecessor by adding a digital sound processing chip which actively reduces background noise while talking. Other features include a AAA pocket charger which offers up to nine hours of talk time, a weight of less than two nickels and a chrome-finish carrying case.
“As Bluetooth headsets gain in popularity, consumers are using them in every imaginable environment — from the car to night clubs to baseball games,” said Renee Niemi, vice president of Mobile and Entertainment at Plantronics, in a statement. “By adding advanced sound technologies to the Discovery and Voyager products, we are providing consumers with the best of both worlds: products that look great and sound fantastic, regardless of where they are talking.”
