Sprint, Samsung Release New Phones

The MM-A900 and MM-A920 Power Vision Phones are geared towards looking great and using Sprint's EVDO network to access a variety of multimedia features.

Sprint and Samsung yesterday announced two new clamshell handsets which are designed to be used with the former’s high speed multimedia data network. The Power Vision Phone MM-A920, which become available Dec. 6, and the Power Vision Phone MM-A900, which is available now, are both priced at $349.

The MM-A900 (opens as PDF) and MM-A920 (opens as PDF), Sprint said, will enable consumers to access the cellular provider’s Power Vision EVDO network to access the latest news, music and entertainment content at broadband-like speeds. The MM-A920 includes an embedded music player, external music navigation controls and an expansion port which houses up to 512MB of TransFlash memory. The MM-A900, meanwhile, is an extremely thin phone which is made of magnesium and is targeted towards the fashion-conscious user.

Features in common for both phones include a 1.3 megapixel camera/camcorder with flash and zoom, Pictbridge-enabled printing capabilities, Bluetooth wireless technology and phone as modem functionality.
