Borders Group and T-Mobile USA today announced that T-Mobile HotSpot in more than 145 Borders book and music stores.
The Hot Spot service is now available in all Borders Books & Music locations in California, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, New Jersey, Texas and Washington state offering customers WiFi (802.11b)high-speed wireless broadband Internet access in more than 145 stores. By mid-June, a majority of the more than 410 Borders Books & Music stores in the U.S. will be WiFi-enabled, giving T-MobileHotSpot customers even more convenient locations to reliably access the Internet when away from their home or office.
Borders provides an ideal environment for mobile professionals to catch up on email, download important presentations or access their corporate intranet from a comfortable chair. T-Mobile HotSpotservice allows customers with a wireless-enabled laptop or PDA to access the Internet or intranets at super fast speeds. Customers can indulge in personal interests such as reading online bookreviews and experiencing rich multimedia audio and video services. In addition, WiFi service in Borders stores expands the customer shopping experience, allowing customers to maintain a connection tothe outside world when shopping Borders’ vast selection of books, music and movies, or talking with friends over a cup of coffee in Cafe Borders.
To connect, customers need a T-Mobile HotSpot account and a WiFi-enabled laptop or PDA. To use the service, customers simply need to launch their Internet browser from within a participating Bordersand login. With a T-Mobile HotSpot account, individuals canaccess the service from more than 2,300 locations nationally, including Borders. A variety of rate plans are available, including prepay, Pay-As-You-Go and unlimited national access plans starting at$29.99 a month.
