I live in Philadelphia and I've been using Clear service for a little over a year now. I’ve experienced some network issues during heavy snow; however, I’m very happy with the service overall.

See the Clear Ping and Road Runner Ping from below. I have both currently and was able to plug in and test both on the same comp within a minute of each other. However Road Runner Seems to vary between awesome and absolute crap. I have seen Road Runner be as bad as 200+ ping times reliably for days. Then some time later it magically fixes itself and no I do not torrent. I have had technicians out to my home 8 separate times. If I wasn't a hardcore gamer I would definately choose clear over road runner.

David you are correct on both counts. high peak times are causing congestion which is also resulting in throttling of the speeds. It is in the process of being fixed its just taking time to do. So yes we are aware of the problem and we are working on getting them fixed. This should help all thoughs who use to have great signal and service and are now only getting moderate service. give it time guys I know that its rough but it will be fixed soon

Glad to hear your liking the service. I believe I am the one you spoke with about the service awhile back when you were looking into it and hopefully my advice and info was enugh for you. I tend to ramble out as much info as I can but I look at it as if I was calling in because thats what I would like to hear when I was asking about a service.

I have Clear and live in Portland and having it over a year I can say crap service they have a program on there towers that cap's your speed at so many gig's downloaded so that you only get .25mb to .99mb and calling them you only get a run around about dealing with all the problems tech support will say your fine and there is no reason to be capped. I have called them everyday for a week complaining that it caps my speed after watching 1-2 shows on netflix from my Ps3 :/ so if you like streaming video online gaming do go with Clear. I was told when I set up my account that I will have unlimited speed for my home modem and Usb modem this problem has been going on for 2 months now and I'm one very unhappy customer there are many reviews out there about Clear's slow/restricted speed's.

They do, actually. They teamed up with Dish Network and from what I've heard, they have some pretty sweet bundles coming out with satellite tv. How is your Clear service?

Mine used to be like that but after some time all of a sudden the signal and speed dropped dramaticly. Now Netflix has to rebuffer every 2 minutes of so. Also the video quality is terrible. I hate Clear!

Over time my signal got worse. We used to have 4 to 5 bars all the time. Now at best we get 2 and it is really slow and unreliable. The modem is in the same place as it has been.

My Clear service in Waco is now really slow. It can barely load the lowest quality youtube video, and every night the signal goes out completely. It used to be good but over time it has become almost unusable. I wish you good luck.

I have had Clear in Waco, Texas for a couple years now. It does not get better over time. Over the years it has gotten slower and slower. I can't play any online games now because they always lag out. It's as if they slow your internet over time. I don't know how it is there, but here in Waco it is now a terrible internet company.

in terms of clear's fastest home internet service, it's definitely fast enough to get by, and it may save you money if you're shooting for city-wide wimax coverage with your laptop anyway, but DEFINITELY avoid if you're just looking for internet in your home or apartment.

the speed isn't nearly what's advertised (at least not in my use–6mbps download speed vs. .71, 1mbps upload vs. .14), bu that's not nearly as annoying as the unreliability of the signal. constantly dropped signal, signal dependency on weather, placement of the modem, open/closed windows, etc…… these are things i don't want to worry about when dealing with the very modem from which i'm getting my signal. i'll live with some delinquent behavior from a wireless router, but not from a modem. i'll take hard-wired dsl or cable any day, thank you very much.
