Verizon Introduces XV6900 Smartphone

Verizon Wireless is now offering its XV6900 Windows Mobile 6 smartphone, with QWERTY keyboard, 2 megapixel camera, and microSD storage...for $349.99.

Verizon Wireless is now offering its Windows Mobile-powered XV6900 smartphone , featuring a 2 megapixel camera, microSD storage, a full QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth, and full mobile messaging capabilities. Verizon is hoping the XV6900 will appeal to mobile business professionals looking for mobile version of Microsoft’s Office application suite, Microsoft Outlook Mobile, and Microsoft Exchange Server support, along with instant messaging, Web and email capabilties, and digital media goodies offered by the Windows Mobile 6 platform.

The XV6900 also features a five way enter/navigation button, integrated speakerphone, 256 MB of user memory, a 2.8-inch (320 by 240 pixel) touchscreen display, Bluetooth 2.0, and microSD expansion for up to 8 GB additional storage. The XV6900 can also tap into Verizon’s EV-DO wireless broadband network and (of course) the operator’s range of digital content and mobile media offerings. The XV6900 does not offer Wi-Fi connectivity, however, so there’ll be no boosting bandwidth when in range of an available wireless network.

The XV6900 is available online now for $349.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a two-year service agreement; Verizon Wireless is offering an additional $100 credit for customers who sign up for qualifying voice/data plans with purchase. The XV6900 will land in Verizon Wireless’s retail outlets (including those in Circuit City locations) on April 30.
