I am glad that this review mentioned that off angle viewing is really bad with this monitor – because it is. The good part is that you will never view it from an angle. Otherwise this is the best LCD I have ever owned. The colors are super rich, the monitor is sexy as hell, and I like that it has USB ports. You can pick it up for under six hundred dollars which I think is an amazing price for a monitor like this.

Most 24″ TN panels are priced below $500 some are under $400. Rather than spending $600 on TN spend $650 and get a decent MVA monitor from Dell, LG, Planar, or BenQ.

The price comparison to the 23″ Apple cinema display is misleading and borderline negligent, as it is THE most overpriced display on the market.

Furthermore MVA is consumer tech, not pro as the reviewer would have you believe. IPS is the professional level tech.

This monitor is excellent for playing World of Warcraft. The viewing angle from below is bad if you watch movies from a distance from an armchair or a sofa (lower than your computer chair). There are other disadvantages not mentioned in the review: The light sensor cannot be calibrated, if you are not content with the factory preset, you can only turn it off. The mechanical parts of the monitor could be better: the buttons have a cheap plastic feel and bad feedback. The screen rotation is used rarely, but it’s easily tipped-off from the usual horizontal position and needs to be readjusted.

This monitor is disgusting. The glossy BrightView screen makes a huge difference for gaming, especially if you can place the monitor in a room without direct sunlight (to reduce glare).

I can’t believe how beautiful this thing is — I hate going to work because I am forced to use my normal non-glossy screen LCD. The 1920×1200 res is great.

No dead pixels in mine – I would recommend this unit to anyone.

Speakers are terrible, but who buys a monitor like this and can’t cough up $50 for an external speaker set?

The colors are vibrant, the screen is bright and all that real estate is awesome. Positioning in a room is important to avoid glare with a glossy screen, but once in the right place the picture is awesome.

Was an AVID crt user because of my Graphic Design job; this monitor blows me away!!!

I do not know if CRT will ever beout shined by any flat BUT if software keeps taking up the slac for colour correction and you have a pantone swatch cataloge , than it is plausable to use this monitor with no problem

Got this with my HP m9077c desktop and it has more than exceeded my expectations. Excellent color, very crisp and the USB connections on the back and side are great for wireless mouse/keyboard and for other quick connections. I bought it blind not knowing what I was getting and I couldn’t be happier.

I don’t use it for work (I wish I did) I can see it would be very helpful. I like having two windows open side by side. The color is great but don’t expect that these speakers will replace your speakers, they are not so great.

I use this as a primary home monitor in conjunction with a HP laptop and docking port. Great quality screen, and portrait mode works very well for reading long web pages. My only complaints are the weak speakers and some occasional electrical interference buzzing when the volume is at 100%. Turning volume down to 50% eliminates the sound.

As an illustrator, let me tell you that this is probably the nicest monitor I’ve seen. I’d like to buy another, but the price is kind of high for me. There is a smaller model, which is just as nice.
