If you’re a fan of Pride & Prejudice & Zombies then you might recognize the name Seth Grahame-Smith because Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is based off of his book. Grahame-Smith enjoys twisting previous works and historical characters with supernatural or horror tropes.
This time he has Abraham Lincoln as a hunter of vampires after he witnesses his mother killed by one. The film version was written by Grahame-Smith with Tim Burton producing and Timur Bekmambetov directing the movie. Timur was previously behind the Angelina Jolie movie Wanted and the Russian adaptation of the popular Night Watch novels.
Actors of note include Benjamin Walker (Flags of Our Fathers) as Lincoln and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World) as Mary Todd Lincoln.
Look for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter in theaters later this month, opening June 22.
