In one form or another you’ve probably read a book or seen a movie that chronicles the beginning of the political and legal war against cigarette companies. Runaway Jury is just one such novel if you’re looking for an example.
Addiction Incorporated adds to that list with this new documentary that follows scientist Victor DeNoble. He was hired by a tobacco company in 1980, 14-years later he found himself testifying in front of Congress that nicotine was addictive and that his research could prove it.
Incorporated follows the science and Big Tobacco’s attempt to keep their knowledge of nicotine’s addictive qualities a secret.
Addiction Incorporated was shown in New York on December 14 but will be making a limited nationwide release on January 14, 2012.
