During WonderCon last weekend Syfy revealed the above teaser trailer for their Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome television movie. B&C was was originally conceived as a web series, then it was a a TV series, then it went back to being a web series again. Now, it’ll be a two-hour TV movie.
The film might serve as a sort of pilot episode for a new BSG prequel series that would be set during the height of the first Cylon War. Former Skins actor Luke Pasqualino will be portraying a young Bill Adama when he was a Viper Pilot with the callsign of Husker. Ben Cotton (Stargate Atlantis) costars as Coker Fasjovik, Adama’s commanding officer. The two of them have a rocky relationship but find themselves forced to work together when assigned to a secret mission with Dr. Becca Kelly (Lili Bordan) that aims to turn the tide of the war in humanity’s favor.
The first BSG spin-off, Caprica, didn’t succeed for a several reasons, but mostly because of a very slow start and fans wanting a faster pace and more action–possibly including more space battles. It looks like B&C will be changing it up to feature more action-adventure.
At the moment there is no premiere date for Blood and Chrome, but it will be on Syfy.
