Let the Bullets Fly trailer

Things get bloody and comically violent in Let the Bullets Fly featuring Chow Yun Fat and Jiang Wen battling it out against one another in 1920s China.

Anytime Chow Yun-Fat gets to return to his ultra-violent John Woo-esque ways you know that you’re going to be getting a comically violent movie. His latest film, Let the Bullets Fly, takes the bloody part to quite the extreme. This one might not be safe for work considering how bloody just the trailer comes off.

The story takes place in 1920s rural China following the bandit “Pocky” Zhang (Jiang Wen) as his gang stages a train robbery. Instead of silver they only discover the con man, Tang (Ge You). Tang convinces Pocky to travel with him to GooseTown where he has a governorship. They plan to partner up to rule GooseTown.

Neither knows that GooseTown is under the iron rule of the wealthy Master Huang (Chow Yun-Fat). Zhang sees how badly Huang oppresses the citizens of GooseTown and decides to do something about it. Thus starts a series of hyper-violent mind games between the bandit and the crime lord. The film is supposed to be a comedy of sorts.

Let the Bullets Fly is due out in theaters on March 2.
