Tony Gilroy is adding to the Bourne movie series with his latest, The Bourne Legacy. Previously, Gilroy wrote the first three Bourne movies that featured Matt Damon as the titular character Jason Bourne. Now, Gilroy is writing and directing the new Bourne movie.
The new story introduces Jeremy Renner who was another member of the original training program that Bourne was involved in. The events of the first three Bourne films are affecting the program as a whole and Renner’s Aaron Cross becomes wrapped up in the fallout.
Albert Finney, Joan Allen, David Strathairn and Scott Glenn reprise their roles from the previous films. New additions to the series include Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Stacy Keach and Oscar Isaac.
The Bourne Legacy is slated for an August 3 theatrical release.
