Sacha Baron Cohen returns to the theaters with another one of his takes on culture and ostensibly racist schtick in his newest film, The Dictator. This time he is a dictator of an indistinct middle eastern country who lives an extremely lavish lifestyle.
The film is was inspired by the novel Zabibah and The King which was attributed to Saddam Hussein. Much of the book is supposed to be allegorical about Hussein’s relationship and struggle with the United States (i.e. Zabibah is Iraq, the oppressive king is the U.S. and Saddam is the hero in the book).
The Dictator is set to hit theaters on May 11, 2012.
