Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy impressed just about everyone with its adventure into the cosmic corners of the studio’s cinematic universe, and apparently one of the people it won over was none other than Oscar-winning actor Al Pacino, who said he not only loved the movie when he saw it, but subsequently had a meeting with Marvel about a mystery role.

During an interview for MTV’s Happy Sad Confused podcast, Pacino described his experience of attending a screening of Guardians of the Galaxy with his children, expecting to simply tolerate the movie for the sake of his kids. Instead, he said was “taken up” by the film.

“It was inventive, funny, strong in sound and music, the production of it, the ingenuity of it… I was really impressed,” he said.

And his positive experience — and subsequent public praise for the film — eventually resulted in a meeting with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige.

“I met with the Marvel guy,” revealed Pacino, and just when he might’ve shared something for fans to speculate on regarding their meeting, fate — or possibly the long hand of Marvel secrecy — intervened.

“I would imagine either there’s something he feels is right for me, or…” teased Pacino, only to be suddenly cut off by his phone ringing.

“Every time we talk about Marvel, that’s what happens,” he joked.

You can listen to the podcast interview with Pacino at MTV. (The Marvel portion of the conversation begins around the 32:30 mark.)

5 video games to play if you liked Ms. Marvel on Disney+
Miles Morales as Spider-Man swinging on his web and charging his powers in one hand.

It seems that with each passing month, there's a new Marvel Studios project. The MCU's take on Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel is the latest arrival on Disney+, aiming to tell a touching superhero-themed coming-of-age story.

It should be something within the studio's wheelhouse, as Marvel Studios tends to focus on the tonally lighter side of things. And with Ms. Marvel carving out time slots on many fans' Wednesdays for the next six weeks, there are also a handful of video games worth playing for those looking for a similarly lighthearted experience that ranges from superhero contemporaries to inventive new IPs.

Thor: Love and Thunder teaser introduces a new goddess
Natalie Portman in Thor: Love and Thunder.

With Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness just a few weeks away, it was inevitable that a trailer for Marvel's follow-up film would debut beforehand. And now, fans have their first look at Thor: Love and Thunder. This is the first MCU solo franchise to get a fourth film, although it might be a misnomer to call Love and Thunder a solo movie. After all, the Guardians of the Galaxy are here, and so is the new Thor.

As seen in the new teaser trailer, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) has become the Mighty Thor, much to the surprise of Thor Odinson (Chris Hemsworth). It all comes down to the enchantment on Thor's hammer, Mjölnir. To refresh your memory, it states that “Whosoever holds this hammer, if they be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor.” Jane has proven worthy, but that doesn't explain who reforged Mjölnir ... or why.

Marvel lines up Moon Knight scribe for a Nova project
Close up of Nova by Adi Granov.

Moon Knight will be the next live-action Marvel series on Disney+ when it premieres March 30. And apparently, Moon Knight screenwriter Sabir Pirzada really impressed his bosses, because Marvel has already lined him up for a new project. Via Deadline, Pirzada will bring Nova to live-action life. However, the report notes that it's unclear if it will be a feature film or a Disney+ show.

Nova, aka Richard Rider, was created by Marvel legends Marv Wolfman and John Romita Sr. in 1976 as an everyman superhero in the mold of Spider-Man. Unlike Spidey, Richard was chosen by Rhomann Dey, a fatally wounded member of the Nova Corps, to carry on as the last Nova Centurion. It's very similar to DC's origin for Green Lantern/Hal Jordan, and Richard even went on to establish a new Nova Corps. Richard's Nova powers include flight, speed, super strength, and the ability to survive in the vacuum of space.
