Everyone’s getting smoked in new American Ultra trailer

The latest trailer for American Ultra has arrived, and it’s filled with even more footage of Jesse Eisenberg’s perpetually stoned sleeper agent kicking butt and killing bad guys with kitchen wares.

The new trailer debuted on Fandango, and offers yet another preview of the film about a highly trained government sleeper agent (Eisenberg) whose activation goes awry due to his, well … extracurricular … hobbies. His small-town life with his girlfriend Phoebe (Kristen Stewart) suddenly takes a deadly turn when he finds himself embroiled in a government operation that endangers everything he holds dear, and he must summon his inner action hero to save the day.

Along with Eisenberg and Stewart, the film also stars Topher Grace (That ’70s Show), Bill Pullman (Independence Day), John Leguizamo (Moulin Rouge), Connie Britton (American Horror Story), Walton Goggins (Django Unchained), Tony Hale (Arrested Development), prolific stunt actor Monique Ganderton (Guardians of the Galaxy), and Lavell Crawford (Breaking Bad). The film’s script was penned by Chronicle screenwriter Max Landis, and the movie is directed by Project X filmmaker Nima Nourizadeh.

In one of the more unique promotional campaigns to hit the mega-popular Comic-Con International in San Diego, Lionsgate recently offered free medical marijuana to any SDCC attendees with government-issued identification and a legal medicinal cannabis card. The free marijuana was accompanied by rolling papers and various other American Ultra promotional items that could be scanned for online access to clips and other content from the film.

The film serves as a reunion of sorts for stars Eisenberg and Stewart, who co-starred in the 2009 film Adventureland, about a pair of slackers (sensing a trend here?) working at an amusement park over the course of a summer.

American Ultra is scheduled to hit theaters August 21.

Xiaomi’s new Ultra 12 phone could have a huge camera bump
A render showcasing a potential design for Xiaomi's 12 Ultra based off a case leak.

Xiaomi is preparing to launch the Xiaomi 12 series, and a new set of renders from the Dutch site Let's Go Digital may give us an early look at one of next year's Android superphones. The renders are backed up by a case leak of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, showing off what appears to be a massive camera bump on the rear.

We can see that a camera enclosure covers nearly half of the phone's rear, but that design could be justified based on hardware needs. The Mi 11 Ultra also had a beefy camera layout with a 50-megapixel main lens, a 48MP camera with up to 120x zoom, and another 48MP ultrawide camera. Combined with an earlier report that the company could ship a 200MP main camera, that sets a baseline for what we can expect from Xiaomi's next phone.

It begins. Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra rumored to get a notch
Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra render both front and back

What we feared is already happening. After Apple released the new MacBook Pro with a notch, we assumed it would only be a matter of time before we saw this ugly design flourish filter out to other devices. And sure enough, where Apple goes, everyone else follows. Now, Samsung is prepping the launch of the next-gen Galaxy Tab 8 Ultra, complete with a notch.

The Galaxy Tab S8 was leaked a few days back, and it revealed a familiar design with slim bezels and a big display. This year, the company is also rumored to be launching an Ultra variant, which will have an even larger display -- and according to leaked renders -- a notch.
