Dare you not to watch: Latest Daredevil season 2 teaser features The Punisher

Hell’s Kitchen is heating up. Netflix has released a new teaser for Daredevil season 2, and it is clear that trouble is brewing in blind vigilante Matt Murdock’s neighborhood. The promo features new Marvel characters, The Punisher and Elektra, both of whom express philosophies that seem very much at odds with the values of the morally conscious Daredevil.

Each of the three is shown suiting up in their superhero-esque garb in the teaser, and readying their weaponry. Daredevil (played by Charlie Cox) talks about protecting people, saying in voiceover, “If I take a night off, people get hurt.” In stark contrast, we hear Elektra (Elodie Yung) say, “You don’t get what you want by day;  you take it by force at night.”

The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) adds his two cents as well: “I think that this world, it needs men that are willing to make the hard call.” The words sound harmless enough at face value, but the fact that they are sandwiched between the printed phrases, “some fight the darkness” and “others become it” makes them much more ominous. There has been speculation over whether or not the menacing character is the villain of season 2, and the promo plays up the ambiguity nicely.

The Daredevil Twitter account shared the promo, teasing, “An ancient evil is coming. Time to suit up.”

We’ll have to wait for season 2 to be able to definitively say who is friend and who is foe as Murdock continues his nighttime crime-fighting activities as Daredevil. The next installment will bring back Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Scott Glenn as Stick, and Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple.

Daredevil season 2 premieres March 18 on Netflix.

3 reasons why Squid Game is still the best Netflix show to watch
Workers in red uniforms with black masks standing in formation in a scene from Squid Game.

When it premiered on Netflix in 2021, Squid Game was nothing more than another South Korean, foreign language series. However, it only took a short period of time before the it became Netflix’s most-watched series ever, attracting 1.65 billion viewing hours in its first month. Fourteen Primetime Emmy nominations and six wins later, including one for Lee Jung-jae for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, Squid Game has struck a chord for many reasons.

It tells the story of desperate people being recruited for a secret contest. They just need to play a series of children’s games. The last person standing of 456 players wins the prize pot of 45.6 billion won, or about $36 million dollars. But there’s a catch: surviving the game is literal. Losers are killed in the most heinous, twisted ways, often at the hands of other competitors willing to do whatever it takes. Squid Game, however, is about a lot more than terrifying games and mass murder, and it's definitely more substantial than the reality show spin-off, Squid Game: The Challenge, that premiered on Netflix in November. There are many reasons Squid Game is still the best Netflix show to watch.

Why you should watch The Amazing Spider-Man 2 on Netflix
Andrew Garfield in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2."

This month, Netflix has welcomed The Amazing Spider-Man 2 back to its lineup, and it has quickly become one of the most popular movies on Netflix. That makes this the perfect opportunity to tell you why you should watch The Amazing Spider-Man 2 on Netflix.

Now, we would never argue that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is the best Spider-Man film or even a great one. It's got a lot of problems, including a truly grotesque Green Goblin design, a very unconvincing performance by Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn, and a take on Electro (Jamie Foxx) that feels like it was lifted directly from Batman Forever. This film also tries so hard to set up an MCU-style Spider-Man universe that it wildly underperformed at the box office and led Sony Pictures to partner directly with Marvel Studios for the Tom Holland-led Spider-Man flicks.

Where to watch Love Is Blind season 5
A group of excited girls enter a room in Love Is Blind.

More singles head back into the pods for their shot at true romance in Love Is Blind season 5. It's only been five months since The Love Is Blind season 4 live reunion, which didn't go at all as planned. Nevertheless, the reality TV series returns this month with an eclectic group of singles from Houston looking for love.

Hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey, Love Is Blind is a social experiment where men and women build connections through conversation. Contestants can't see each other while secluded in their "pods." Instead, the singles go on dates while communicating through a speaker within their pod. Couples will only meet face-to-face when a marriage proposal is brought forward. The couples then live with each other for a few weeks. In the end, the couples choose to get married or split up.
