I will completely admit my lack of interest in this film comes from my strong distaste for Baz's style. Don't get me started on that Romeo + Juliet masterdisaster.

However, every time I watch that trailer I can't help but crack up at Toby Maguire's angry yell face. So it's a draw?

Granted, but that film never really lent itself to discussion on the comparative similarities between pre-Depression socialites and HOVA. As a journalist, it’s my duty to continually drop winking references to my iTunes playlist whenever possible. Pretty sure that’s how you win a Pulitzer.

Let’s not overlook the fact that this book was already made into a movie at least once before, in 1974 with Robert Redford in the lead role.
