New trailer for Avengers: Age Of Ultron serves up more Hulkbuster action

Last night’s inaugural College Football Playoff National Championship wasn’t a very exciting affair, but the new trailer for Avengers: Age Of Ultron that debuted during the event’s broadcast made things interesting with quite a bit of fresh, action-packed footage from the upcoming sequel to The Avengers.

The new preview for Age Of Ultron clocked in at around 1:40, and though it offered noticeably less Ultron this time around, it made up for that by packing in more explosive footage of Iron Man’s battle with Hulk while wearing his massive “Hulkbuster” armor. The trailer also featured more footage of Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), as well as a few glimpses of newcomers Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen).

Still conspicuously absent from the footage, however, is Vision — the team’s android ally set to be played by Paul Bettany.

The new Age Of Ultron trailer also continues to establish the dark, sinister tone set by its predecessor, clearly hammering home the theme that this is the superhero team’s darkest hour.

Written and directed by Joss Whedon, Avengers: Age Of Ultron hits theaters May 1, 2015.

Butcher powers up in a new trailer for The Boys season 3

One of the key changes that The Boys live-action series made from the comic book that inspired it is that the main characters have no superhuman powers of their own. They're just regular guys and one woman with enhanced strength. Somehow, they've managed to survive two seasons on Prime Video's breakout hit. However, it's time for Billy Butcher and his team to level the playing field.

In the gore-filled new trailer for The Boys season 3, a significant amount of time has passed since the events of season 2. Outwardly, Homelander was humbled by the revelation that he was dating a super Nazi code-named Stormfront. And while Homelander says all of the right things to the media, it's clear that he's losing his mind. It's so obvious that even Homelander's handlers are terrified of him. That's why Butcher has been given the chance to become the very thing he hates the most: A superhuman. But against Homelander, even having powers may not be enough.

In more ways than one, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness marks the ending of Wanda Maximoff's MCU journey. First introduced in 2015's otherwise forgettable Avengers: Age of Ultron, Wanda is unique among MCU characters: flawed, inexperienced, highly traumatized, and holding far more power than anyone should. Throughout seven years, five movies, and one television miniseries, Wanda grew and evolved; she fell in love against all odds and grew into her own hero, only to lose the love of her life and the reputation she worked so hard to earn; she built a family, then saw it fade away as quickly as it arrived.

Wanda suffered more trauma, heartbreak, pain, loss, and damage than any other character in the otherwise cheery and safe MCU. Why the writers put her through hell and back remains unclear -- tragedy seems so ingrained in Wanda Maximoff's character that there might seem like there's no other way to develop her -- but she was strong enough to take it. And then, she wasn't. The MCU gave Wanda things they'd eventually take away, then raised its voice at her for complaining. And Wanda took it like a champ, but as one Jasmine Francis once said, "there's only so many traumas a person can withstand until they take to the streets and start screaming."

Netflix goes all-in on The Witcher with new trailers, season 3 renewal, and more

If there was any doubt that Netflix was firmly behind The Witcher franchise, that uncertainty can be put to rest.

Netflix didn't stop with a season 3 renewal for the series during its first-ever Tudum preview event over the weekend. The Witcher will also expand with a new anime movie, a family-friendly TV series set in the franchise, and the previously announced live-action prequel series, The Witcher: Blood Origin. That's a lot of coins to be throwing at your Witcher!
