Watch PlayStation Network’s first episode of Powers for free right here

Powers: A PlayStation Original Series | Episode 1
PlayStation Network’s new series Powers debuted this week, and while the first three episodes are available to all PlayStation Plus subscribers, Sony has also made the pilot episode available for anyone to watch online.

Before you go watching it, however, be aware that the series includes some strong language and violence — so you may want to turn it up a little.

Based on Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming’s comic book series of the same name, Powers follows two detectives in the “Powers” division of the Los Angeles Police Department, tasked with investigating crimes that involve victims and perpetrators with superhuman abilities. District 9 star Sharlto Copley plays Detective Christian Walker, a former superhero who lost his powers, and Susan Heyward plays Detective Deena Pilgrim, Walker’s new partner.

30 Days of Night and Hannibal series director David Slade directed the first two episodes of Powers, and along with Copley and Heyward, the series stars Max Fowler, Adam Godley, Noah Taylor, Olesya Rulin, and Eddie Izzard.

New episodes of Powers will debut every Tuesday for PlayStation Plus subscribers.

How powerful is the M1 Max’s GPU? Estimates say possibly more than a PS5
apple m1 max chip

Apple announced several new products at its Apple Unleashed event on Monday, the most impressive of which was the M1 Max that's coming to MacBook Pro 2021 models. This revision to the M1 chip bumps up the core count across the CPU and GPU, with the latter scaling up to 32 cores. And a new performance estimate suggests that those cores could be more powerful than the PlayStation 5.

Notebookcheck performed an analysis of the M1 Max's GPU cores to estimate the performance. Using the M1 as a baseline, the outlet was able to extrapolate that the 32-core M1 Max could produce about 10.4 teraflops of GPU power. That's based off of the 8-core M1 chip, which produces about 2.6 teraflops of GPU power.

October’s PlayStation Plus games are an unusual bunch
octobers playstation plus games mortal kombat x ps

Sony revealed its new additions to the PlayStation Plus subscription service for the month of October. The games featured for subscribers to download starting on October 5 are Mortal Kombat X, PGA Tour 2K21, and Hell Let Loose. Some subscribers are calling this one of the weaker months of Plus, especially since its lacking horror games for Halloween month.

The real standout game of this month is Mortal Kombat X. MKX is one of the most popular fighting games in the PlayStation library, still featuring a strong online player base. Sadly, this PlayStation Plus download doesn't feature the DLC of the game, which includes characters like Jason Vorhees, the Xenomorph of the Alien series, Leatherface, and Predator. It's also overshadowed by the most recent game entry in the Mortal Kombat series, Mortal Kombat 11. The game will be available for both PS4 and PS5 owners to download.
