A damn shame that the creations of Dan O'Bannon and Phillip K. Dick are called the 'Ridleyverse' here as if Ridley Scott actually created either, much-less, both. But since both writers are dead (and are writers), I guess it's fine??

Prometheus was incredibly illogical to the point of largely not making any sense in plot or character actions. It was a cheap (yet ultra-costly) attempt to remake O'Bannon's Alien script and call it a 'secret prequel'. Blade Runner ended up pretty far from Dick's 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep', but mainly just to make it an 'action movie'.
Ridley's ideas for shoving even more B. Runner references into Prometheus weren't used most likely because they were awful ideas that made no sense. An army of Roy Batty's?? And all NAMED Roy Batty? And from his former mentor's company that he's ripping on in the email? Glad someone else told Ridley that that was completely stupid.

This is as bad as ignoring how much Lucas directly stole to make Star Wars, how much credit-less help he had, and how he actually fought (but failed) to make Empire S. Back far worse than it ended up.

Why don't we all praise J. Cameron next for stealing Harlan Ellison's work to create his 'Terminatorverse'. Or how 'pretty' yet totally nonsensical Avatar was, beyond simply being the silly plot of a couple children's cartoons (Pocahontas and Ferngully).
Please stop worshiping movie directors that steal and make millions off of other people's ideas and call them their own like they did it all.
At least ACKNOWLEDGE that they don't even come close to doing any of this on their own (and that doesn't just mean incidental film crew workers).

What would have been great is if Ridley Scott had cared enough not to hire a bad actress like Charlize Theron and made a good film. Sadly, all we're left with is "get excited the new crappy movie links the worlds of good old movies!"

It's emblematic of how low Hollywood has sunk, and sad for Ridley Scott who deserves better.
