Blue Steel is back! Here's the first trailer for Zoolander 2

Just when you thought you’d seen the last of Blue Steel, Derek Zoolander is back on the big screen.

Paramount Pictures has released the first full trailer for Zoolander 2 — also known as 2oolander — and it features the return of Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson’s ridiculously handsome male models, Derek Zoolander and Hansel McDonald. It also features a few more familiar faces, as well as no shortage of celebrity cameos.

Set 10 years after the events of 2001’s Zoolander, the sequel finds Derek and Hansel struggling to find their place in a world filled with fresh new faces and an industry that has all but forgotten its once-great icons of fashion. Recruited by Interpol to help with an investigation, the pair suddenly find themselves thrust back into the spotlight — and facing an old enemy who’s out for revenge.

“Although the last movie ended on a happy note, a lot of things have happened in the meantime,” said Stiller of the film in an interview earlier this year. “Their lives have changed and they’re not really relevant anymore. It’s a new world for them.”

Stiller reprises his role both in front of the camera and behind it for Zoolander 2, directing and co-writing the sequel as well as portraying the titular male model whose naivety is only matched by his stellar good looks. Tropic Thunder screenwriter Justin Theroux co-wrote the script with Stiller.

Along with Stiller and Wilson, the film also stars Penélope Cruz, Christine Taylor, Kristen Wiig, Cyrus Arnold, and Will Ferell (reprising his role as the villainous designer Jacobim Mugatu). Also appearing in the film are Billy Zane, Fred Armisen, Justin Bieber, Kyle Mooney, Kim Kardashian, Ariana Grande, and other notable celebrities.

Zoolander 2 is scheduled to hit theaters February 12, 2016.

Extraction 2 is the most popular Netflix movie right now. Here’s why you should watch it
Chris Hemsworth protects a woman from two men in Extraction 2.

In April 2020, most of the world was stuck inside due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Movie theaters were closed, causing every major studio to push back their films to later dates, so streaming services were one of the few places to find new movies. One of those streamers was Netflix, which released the action thriller Extraction starring Chris Hemsworth on April 24, 2020. Hemsworth stars as Tyler Rake, a former special ops agent- turned-elite mercenary who must rescue the son of an Indian drug lord. Extraction was a huge hit with audiences and became Netflix's most-watched original film up to that point.

Three years later, Tyler Rake is back with a new mission in the sequel Extraction 2. After surviving the events at the end of Extraction, including a gunshot to the neck, Tyler retires to a secluded cabin in Austria. While recovering from his injuries, Tyler is recruited by a mysterious stranger (Idris Elba) for another adventure -- and this one is personal. Tyler is tasked with freeing his ex-wife's sister, Ketevan (Tinatin Dalakishvili), and her two children from a Georgian prison. The sequel packs an even bigger and better punch, with more fantastic action sequences. Here are three reasons why Extraction 2 should be the next movie in your queue.

Jason Statham kicks a giant shark in first trailer for Meg 2
Jason Statham in Meg 2: The Trench.

One of the big issues in the current Hollywood writer's strike is that the WGA wants to set rules so that studios can't start making movies written by AI programs. And yet if there's any film that looks like it was written by a computer, it's Meg 2: The Trench, the sequel to The Meg, a giant prehistoric shark movie that was a modest blockbuster in 2018. Rest assured, all evidence to the contrary, this movie was made by humans. And in the first trailer for the sequel, action star Jason Statham finally gets to kick a shark.
