Way too bulky for me to use as a portable audio player. Cool concept, poor execution IMO.

I have been torn between an MP3 player and XM2Go. I purchased the Airware and since I use it almost entirely as a portable the size of the unit is not much of a concern. The reception is as good as my Roady 2 either in the car or my office. My biggest disappointment is in the recording and the handling of the music.
Being tied to your home docking station to do a scheduled recording is really a problem when you are traveling. Also, the fact that when you record using the XM2Go button you record just what you hear. Weak signal it is committed to memory partial song too bad, and all the little XM “commercial breaks”. There is absolutely no editing the playlist, just wish I could delete poorly recorded songs maybe even a little manipulation of the playlist. I was hoping that the recording might be more like the Time Trax equipment.
Oh well. I guess you can”t have it all. I am certain there are draw backs to the MP3 path as well.
Still LOVE XM!

The built-in antenna strenght to me seemed very poor. Cannot use it in the house or car without extra antenna’s and docking stations. Pain in the …. Navigating with the tiny scroll button on the side is no fun either. Everything else seems to work ok though.

I love my Pioneer Airware XM2go! I find myself using it constantly throughout the day, whether it be transmitting to my shower radio, in my Jeep, at the office, at the gym, or in my home. The portability was a major selling point as I wanted to be able to listen to XM anywhere, not just in my Jeep or home. The pre-recording feature is awesome for those times that there is no signal, and being able to skip from song to song is great! I’m extremely satisfied and I’m glad I hadn’t purchased any other receiver.

The audio on this unit is very fuzzy and distorted, as well as very flat. I have tried it with several headphones to no avail. I now use my T-Mobile MDA with XM Software and it is 100 times better sounding. Don’t waste your money on this piece of junk.

This is my first satellite radio and at first the many functions and channels were quite the novelty. The downfalls: the mobile capability is useless (outside of car). Houses, trees, your own body block the reception while you walk around the neighbourhood. Thankfully the record option – one of the best attibutes was available. Overall Pioneer is on the right track with the functions but along with the mobile problem the buttons are too small and dial operation clumbsy.

I totally enjoyed this product and never had a problem until now, now the signal fades in and out and for some reason the system resets itself and I have to reprogram it

Bought in December ’05. I don’t want clumsy gadgets on my handle bars. I record 5 hrs of XM music, put one ear plug in my ear & the other goes in my girlfriends ear. Loadness works great at 60-70 MPH & not too bad at 80 MPH. Will be getting the new XM Samsung NeXus50 for a friend, can store 50 hrs of music. Hopefully it will be just as loud on the Harley and hope the battery lasts long also. JW.

Roady XT is a better reciever but I wanted something portable. So far I have only been able to get a signal once without an external antana and it only lasted one second. I ordered the special headset for $30. It is supposed to help a lot.
