    I think the vibez is a pretty cool MP3 player. I don’t really care about the album art as long as the sound quality is good, and it is. I like that I can use it as a hard drive too.

    The Trekstor Vibez creamates the Ipod, Zune when it comes to easy setup. All you do is plug it in with a non-proprietory cable and drag and drop. It works on FreeBSD (unix stuff) mac, windows (no sweat) and the best feature its the ONLY mp3 player readily supported, bigger than 8gbs and plays OGG Vorbis and FLAC

    So your sound will be awesome and you can amaze your geek freinds with the opensource amazing sound formats.

    This is an excellent choice for audiophiles – FLAC support is great and the drag-and-drop transfer is just soooo easy (other manufacturers take note).

    That said, the menu structure takes some getting used too, and the lack of a hold button is disappointing.

    Anyone who was familiar with Rio’s Karma MP3 player (another one high among audiophile’s lists) will notice that the menu system, and in fact almost the entire UI, is just like the Karma’s. I think this is great as I just switched from a Karma which was showing its age in use.

    The vibe continues Karma’s tradition in playing as many formats as it does, with the same cross fading, gapless, and “dj” options as the Karma had.

    If you’ve used Karma before, the vibe’s “archaic” menus system should be no problem, as it’s nearly the same.

    Its downfalls from the Karma are the lack of a line-level output on its upcoming dock and a lock-button.

    I have bought this player for FLAC and Linux support. It is a nice player but the scroll wheel is awkward. The HDD died after a few months, but I believe I was just unlucky. TrekStor sent me a replacement ASAP. Great sound, sturdy design. No proprietary connections and ease of battery replacement are plus. Locks up sometimes, maybe because of HDD problems or some FLAC incompatibility. Overall, it is a good design with above average performance. Works w. Linux just fine. I have mixed feelings for this device since the sound is great but the old unit let me down a lot of times when I was on the road (HDD?). Anyway, I will do anything to avoid an IPod :)

    The good: Drag’n drop, mini USB connection, great sound with many choices (EQ, play modes etc), battery life, interchangeable battery, steel back cover, FLAC support, Linux support, good headphones in pack, no need to install software.

    The bad: FM tuner not built-in, can’t record from FM, sound output low, not easy to reset if locks up, no HOLD button, delicate design (not rugged)
