I think Youtube,Grooveshark and other sites can be used for that purpose.And although Soundcloud is used the way you say,lately I find pages that have songs from know artists,uploaded by fans.

Well, it's not that there's a problem. Nothing is harmed here, but if they were able to open it up to be fully usable on the Web (which they could, I believe), then it would open up a huge library of free sharable music for everyone. It would be pretty amazing. SoundCloud is more for new artists uploading select tracks.

It’s obvious they need to do this way for the money.And,as you say,there are alternatives like Soundcloud,so,what’s the problem?
